The short version
- We collect what the app needs to work: your account details, the tasks and messages you create, and the files you attach.
- We ask permission before using your camera, microphone, location, photos or contacts — and only for the feature you tapped.
- We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
- You can delete your account and all its data from inside the app at any time.
1. Who we are
Task A Task ("the app", "we", "us") is operated by TASKATASK, registered at Klevu g. 25-22, Balbieriskis 59243, Lithuania. We are the data controller for the information described in this policy.

2. What we collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Account details — name, email address, phone number, password, and your profile photo if you add one.
- Sign-in identifiers — if you sign in with Google, Apple or Facebook, we receive the name, email address and account identifier those services share with us. We never receive your password for them.
- Content you create — tasks, task templates, processes and process steps, notes, deadlines, durations, task costs, projects, workspaces, appointments and votes.
- Messages and calls — the text of chat messages, reactions, scheduled messages, and files, images, video or audio you send. Call audio and video are streamed live between participants and are not recorded by us.
- Attachments — photos, videos and documents you upload to a task, a chat or a process step.
2.2 Information we collect when you grant permission
- Contacts — if you use "Import Person", we read your device contacts so you can add them as people in the app. Only the contacts you choose to import are sent to our servers. We do not upload your whole address book in the background.
- Location — used to attach a location to a task, show locations on a map, and provide location features while a task is running. We request background location only where a feature you enabled requires it.
- Camera, microphone and photo library — used to take or attach photos and video, record audio, and take part in voice and video calls.
- Speech recognition — if you dictate a message or note, your speech is converted to text using your device's speech recognition service, which may be provided by Apple or Google depending on your device.
2.3 Information collected automatically
- Device and technical data — device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, and a device identifier used for push notifications.
- Usage and diagnostics — screens opened, features used, performance traces, and crash reports including stack traces and the device state at the time of a crash.
- Log data — requests made to our servers, including IP address and timestamps, kept for security and debugging.
3. Device permissions and why we ask
Every permission maps to a feature you can choose to use. Denying one disables that feature, not the whole app.
| Permission | What it is used for |
|---|---|
| Camera | Taking photos and video for tasks and chats; video calls |
| Microphone / Record audio | Voice and video calls, voice notes, dictation |
| Location (precise and approximate) | Attaching a location to a task, maps, location-based task features |
| Contacts (read and write) | Importing people into the app and saving contacts you create |
| Photos and files | Attaching and saving images, video and documents |
| Phone state | Detecting an incoming SIM call so an in-app call can yield to it |
| Full-screen intent / display over other apps | Showing the incoming call screen when the app is in the background |
| Foreground service (calls, media) | Keeping a call or media playback alive while you use other apps |
| Bluetooth | Routing call audio to a connected headset or speaker |
| Notifications | Alerting you to assignments, messages, calls and reminders |
| Face ID / biometrics | Optional biometric unlock of the app |
| Motion | Used by the calling and media components for device orientation |
4. How we use your information
- To create and run your account, and to authenticate you.
- To deliver the core features: creating, assigning, sending, executing and costing tasks.
- To deliver messages, calls and notifications to the people you send them to.
- To sync your data across your devices and restore it when you reinstall.
- To keep the service secure, detect abuse, and debug crashes and performance problems.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, share it with data brokers, or use it to target advertising.
5. Legal bases (EEA and UK users)
- Performance of a contract — providing the app and its features to you.
- Consent — camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos and push notifications. You can withdraw consent in your device settings at any time.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the service secure, preventing abuse, and improving reliability.
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose data by law.
6. Who we share data with
We share data with other users as the app's features require — for example, when you assign a task, send a message, or start a call, the recipient sees the content you sent and your profile name and photo.
We also use the following service providers, which process data on our behalf:
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase | Push notifications, crash reporting, analytics, performance monitoring | Device identifier, app usage, crash and performance data |
| Google Sign-In | Optional sign-in method | Name, email, account identifier |
| Google Maps | Displaying maps and locations | Location coordinates you attach |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple; push notifications on iOS | Name, email or relay address, account identifier |
| Meta (Facebook Login) | Optional sign-in method | Name, email, account identifier |
| Twilio | Voice and video calling | Live audio and video streams, call metadata |
| Expo (EAS) | Delivering over-the-air app updates | App version, device platform, update channel |
| [HOSTING PROVIDER] | Hosting our servers and database | All data described in this policy |
We may also disclose data where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
7. Where your data is stored
Your data is stored on servers located in [COUNTRY / REGION]. Our service providers may process data in other countries. Where data leaves the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. How long we keep it
- Account and content — kept while your account is active.
- After deletion — removed from our live systems promptly and purged from backups within 30 days.
- Crash and diagnostic data — retained per our providers' default periods, typically up to 90 days.
- Server logs — retained for up to 12 months for security purposes.
- Content you sent to other users — such as a message in a shared chat — may remain visible to those users after you delete your account.
9. Your rights and choices
Delete your account
You can delete your account and its data from inside the app: open the right-hand menu and choose Delete Account. This erases your data and cannot be undone. You can also request deletion by emailing tasks@taskatask.com.
Other rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, restrict or object to our processing of your data, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Contact us and we will respond within the period required by law.
Permissions and notifications
You can revoke camera, microphone, location, contacts and photo access, and turn off notifications, in your device settings at any time.
10. User content and safety
The app lets users send messages, images, files and other content to each other. You are responsible for the content you send. We provide in-app tools to report and block users and content, and we may remove content or suspend accounts that breach our terms.
11. Security
Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Authentication tokens are held in the operating system's secure storage on your device. We restrict internal access to personal data to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Children
Task A Task is not directed at children. You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, to use it. If we learn we have collected data from a child below that age, we will delete it. Contact us if you believe this has happened.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. We will update the "Last updated" date above, and for significant changes we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
